Garden Tours

The Lubbock Arboretum offers several tour opportunities for the public. The gardens at 4111 University Avenue are open 24 hours every day.  People are welcome to walk around and enjoy the gardens at their leisure.

Guided tours are available when appointments are made in advance.  These tours can be individual or group tours.  Please call the arboretum office or e-mail lubarbo@lubbockarboretum.org. to make arrangements.

The Arboretum Foundation board also cooperates and coordinates two garden tours with homeowners in the Lubbock area. See Education link also. These tours are advertised in our newsletters, the local media.  Members of the arboretum receive mailed notices of these tours.

A spring garden tour is offered in late spring to give the homeowners a chance to get their gardens in prime condition for the public tour. There is a modest charge, which goes into the development fund of the arboretum. Usually 8 to 10 gardens are selected each year for the garden tour.

A favorite tour for area residents is the pond tour usually in late summer and is operated much like the spring garden tour. Eight to ten homeowners with interesting ponds are selected for the public's enjoyment. A modest fee provides entrance into all the gardens with the proceeds going to the arboretum development fund.
