Volunteer Experiences at the Arboretum |
|
|
VOLUNTEERS
provide most of the specialized care of woody plants and flower displays,
such as planting, fertilizing and pruning.
Utilities and general maintenance of the Arboretum are provided by
the City of Lubbock. VOLUNTEERS
promote the support, maintenance, and expansion of the Arboretum and its
mission by their talents and enthusiasm. VOLUNTEERS
plan and conduct regularly scheduled programs, special celebrations,
projects and tours for adults and children on the Arboretum grounds. VOLUNTEERS
maintain the Interpretive Center, which houses the Arboretum office,
meeting rooms and unique Gift Shop. VOLUNTEERS
take special programs out to civic groups and other community
agencies, circulate informative materials and cooperate closely with other
organizations having the same interests. As the Arboretum is viewed more and more as a botanical asset to the City of Lubbock, more and more volunteers are needed. Do any of the following pursuits offer challenges that you would like to accept?
